Day Movement & Notes (8 Nights – Kasane / Maun)
Day 1 – Kasane → Chobe Game Lodge (Chobe River Front) Arrival at Kasane International Airport and meet-and-greet by lodge representatives, followed by an open game drive transfer into Chobe Game Lodge. Settle into elegant riverside accommodation inside Chobe National Park. Afternoon game drive introduces the famed Chobe Riverfront, home to immense elephant herds, hippos, buffalo, and big cat activity. Note: River-based wildlife concentrations are highest in the dry season.
Day 2 – Chobe Game Lodge Full day exploring the Chobe Riverfront through guided game drives and optional boat-based safaris along the Chobe River. Exceptional birdlife and predator-prey interactions dominate the landscape. Note: Early morning and late afternoon activities offer the best sightings.
Day 3 – Chobe Game Lodge → Savute Safari Lodge Morning transfer by open vehicle to Kasane Airport for scheduled light-aircraft flight to Savuti, arriving at Savute Safari Lodge. Afternoon game drive introduces the rugged Savuti ecosystem. Note: Transition from riverine habitat to arid savannah with strong predator presence.
Day 4 – Savute Safari Lodge Full day exploring the dramatic landscapes of Savuti. Game drives reveal lions, hyenas, cheetahs, wild dogs, and large elephant herds. Note: Wildlife movement is highly dynamic due to seasonal channel changes.
Day 5 – Savute Safari Lodge → Xugana Island Lodge Light-aircraft transfer into the heart of the Okavango Delta to Xugana Island Lodge. Arrive on a remote island setting surrounded by permanent waterways. Afternoon at leisure with optional boating activities. Note: Arrival marks transition into a fully water-based safari environment.
Day 6 – Xugana Island Lodge Full day in the pristine Okavango Delta, enjoying mokoro excursions, boat safaris, fishing, and guided nature walks. Abundant birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and antelope species define the experience. Note: Water levels influence activity mix and accessibility of channels.
Day 7 – Xugana Island Lodge → Camp Xakanaxa Scheduled light-aircraft transfer to Camp Xakanaxa in the Moremi Game Reserve. Afternoon game drive or relaxation at the lodge overlooking the Khwai River. Note: This region combines both land and water safari opportunities.
Day 8 – Camp Xakanaxa Full day exploring Moremi’s diverse ecosystems through game drives and optional water-based activities. Expect rich wildlife sightings including elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, and prolific birdlife. Note: The reserve offers one of the highest wildlife densities in the Okavango system.
Day 9 – Departure (Camp Xakanaxa → Maun) Morning activity followed by light-aircraft transfer to Maun for onward travel. Note: Final flights may be adjusted depending on weather and scheduling conditions.
